Pictures of Texas
Star Trails, McDonald Observatory

This picture was taken on the night of the 16th and the morning of the 17th,1999, during the Leonid Meteor shower. I pointed one of my cameras at the North Star, using the  Hobby-Eberly Telescope at the McDonald Observatory for my subject.

I set up several cameras that night, hoping to capture some meteors, but  was disappointed, the anticipated shower never materialized. Even though there are no meteors in the shot, I'm still pleased with this circular star trail image.
